As Edward departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Edward. Though Edward may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward James Cavanaugh and Mary Elizabeth Cavanaugh (O'Brien); and his siblings, Thomas Cavanaugh and Bonita Connelly (Cavanaugh). He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Cavanaugh (Benson); his children, Ellen Cavanaugh (Tegan), Molly Davis (Brett) and Eddie Cavanaugh (Devin Powell); and his grandchildren, Brett Davis II, Bryce Davis and Kai Cavanaugh.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, February 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Brendan the Navigator Church (4475 Dublin Rd, Hilliard, OH 43026).
