He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Jane Hauenstein (Groff); and his aunt Catherine Bailey (Groff). He is survived by: his wife Lynn; his sons, Mark Hauenstein (Mary) and Carl Hauenstein (Michaela); his grandchildren, Sophia and Samuel Hauenstein; and his brothers-in-law, Ross Chambers and Mike Chambers. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christ the King Church (2777 E Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH 43209). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
