He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley Ann Lane-Williams and Homer D. Lane Sr.; his grandparents, Ernest, Ruby Hordge, Mims and Lila Lane; his brothers, Timothy Lane, Tyrone Lane, Carey Lane, Jeffery Lane, Tony Lane and Charles Lane; his grandson Aaron Butts; and his daughter Tennisha O'Neil.
He is survived by: his children, Lalita Carson (Shane), Sheryl Lane, Tika Lane and Tye Stewart; his grandsons, Davante Lane, Demarkus Jackson, Jaylen Lane, Jayvaun Lane and Laramonte Lane; his siblings, Dorothea Edwards, Peggy Morris of Memphis, TN, Mauldin Lane of Talladega, AL and Homer D. Lane Jr. (Aleta); his aunt Lynnette Carter; and his close friends, Barbara Smith, Mimi Milner, Penny Martin, Julia O'Neil, Ubah and Starr. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
