She was predeceased by : her parents, Ernest Thurron Ellison (Father) and Nancy Ellison; her sister Betty Jean Hairston (Jessie); her brother-in-law Ray James Thornwell; and also Shawn Williams.

She is survived by : her daughter Johnna "Boo" R. Barnett; her nieces, Jenifer and Jessica Hairston; her cousins, Ulysses and Peggy Austin; her children, Dwayne S. Barnett (Mary Garth), Thurron E. Barnett and LaVonda McLean; her grandchildren, Natasha R. Stith (Brandon Scott) and Brandon Young; her great grandchildren, Bre'Onna Scott, Layana Hammonds, Ladarius Edwards, Elijah Kelly, Braydyn Young, Kristian Young and Riley Young; and her sisters, Joyce M. Crockett and Susie M. Ford. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church (858 E 3rd Ave, Columbus, OH 43201, USA). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
