She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Thurron Ellison (Father) and Nancy Ellison; her sister Betty Jean Hairston (Jessie); her brother-in-law Ray James Thornwell; Shawn Williams.

She is survived by: her daughter Johnna "Boo" R. Barnett; her nieces, Jenifer and Jessica Hairston; her cousins, Ulysses and Peggy Austin; her children, Dwayne S. Barnett (Mary Garth), Thurron E. Barnett and LaVonda McLean; her grandchildren, Natasha R. Stith (Brandon Scott) and Brandon Young; her great grandchildren, Bre'Onna Scott, Layana Hammonds, Ladarius Edwards, Elijah Kelly, Braydyn Young, Kristian Young and Riley Young; and her sisters, Joyce M. Crockett and Susie M. Ford. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
