He was predeceased by: his parents, John Adair, Jr. and Ruby Marshall Adair; his siblings, Reverend Glen Adair and Claudine Adair Little; his stepmother Annie L. Walker; and his daughter Shelia Adair Thurman.

He is survived by: his daughter Sheila; his wife Emma Adair; his sons, Evanston and Levanston Adair (Lynn); his brother Marshall Adair (Juanita); and his grandchildren, Chanse A. Adair, Evan D. Adair, Leah D. Adair and Tony Hayden. He is also survived by other friends; nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
