He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Zacharias and Goldie Zacharias (Furbee); his wife Pauline Zacharias (Woods); his siblings, Linda Galloway, Mary Lou Dodds, Richard, Donald, Clarence "Skip" and Larry Zacharias; and his former wife Fern Epstein.

He is survived by: his former wife Hannah "Peg" Weir; his children, Fred Eric Zacharias (Claudia) and Lorrie Burns (John); his family, Ian and Melody Zacharias; and his children, Travis and Katie McKee (Chris).

Memorials may be made to the "Clarence T. Gilham Endowed Scholarship in Honor of Fred E. Zacharias" at Hiram College, PO Box 67, Hiram, Ohio 44234.
