He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Hay and Georgianna Hay; his granddaughter Catriona Martin; and his son-in-law David Smucker. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Barbara Gurvis (Ron), Gerland Jr., Russell (Linda), Martin and Cathy Smucker; and his siblings, Frank Hay and Carol Barker. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
