She was predeceased by: her parents, Prokopi "Peter" Papahanges of Vytina and Maria Papahanges (Benetatos) of Nifi; her brother Gus P. Papahanges (Constantine); her husband Dr. John J. Gardikes (Damasi) of Nashua; her parents-in-law, Demetri of Damasi, Greece and Ourania Gardikis (Economou) of Damasi, Greece; her siblings-in-law, Katherine (Gardikes), Earl Richards, Bessie (Gardikes) and Jim Brooks; her niece Elaine (Richards) Hatcher (Tim Hatcher); and her godson Dr. Neocles Leontis.
She is survived by: her children, Renee Gardikes Gingery (Michael Gingery), Father Demetrios (James), Gardikes Gardikes (Presvytera Susanna (Sherri) and Peter Gardikes (Vicky Constantinidis Gardikes); her grandchildren, Michelle (Miller), Michael Miller, Christine (Miller), Estes (William Estes), John Gardikes and Robert Gardikes (Emily Shambrock Gardikes); her great grandchildren, Jackson Beachler, Addison Beachler and Juliette Estes; her siblings-in-law, Dr. Arthur Gardikes and Maria Papahanges; and her nieces and nephews, James Richards (Jim), Dorian Richards (Jill Richards), Annie Brooks (Wayne Rotterman), Art Brooks (Amy Schuman Brooks), Bill Brooks, Peter Papahanges (Tricia Papahanges), Tina Papahanges and Elina Karagiannakou. She is also survived by other loving great-nieces, great-nephews, Godchildren, extended family members, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Helen's memory to The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral Ladies Philoptochos Society.
