He was predeceased by: his father Howard Boddie, Sr.; and his sister Robin L. Schoolfield (Gary Schoolfield). He is survived by: his mother Jacqueline Marshall; his son Howard Boddie III (Angel); his grandchildren, Joseph Boddie, Amara Boddie and Elijah Boddie; his siblings, Dr. Deborah L. (Jean-Marie), Polynice, Karen Boddie, Richard C. Boddie, Derrick A. Boddie (Chandra) and Eric Boddie (Theresa); his goddaughters, Jacqueline Jones and Monica Jones; his brother Robert Wilson; and his close friend Earl Wilson. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
