He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Sr. Peterson and Virginia "Ginger" Peterson; his daughter Stevie Peterson; and his siblings, Pam Peterson and Tommy Peterson.
He is survived by: his children, Dallas Peterson, Hunter Peterson (Sierra), Madison Peterson (Michaela) and Bruce Slane; his grandchildren, Anthony, Geneva, Brinley and Isabelle; and his sibling's children, T. J. Peterson (Adi) and Toni Raines (Jon).
