He was predeceased by: his parents, William J Carney and Mary Carney (Mattingly); his sister Marilyn Arthur (Bill); and his brother-in-law Edward Rice (Loretta). He is survived by: his wife Mary Margaret Erdy (Rice); his children, Mary Williams (Jeff), Christopher Erdy (Linda) and Julie Schmitz (Tim); his grandchildren, Erik Williams (Tiffany), Elizabeth Talmage, Tim Schmitz (Abby), Julianne Schmitz and Abigail Schmitz; and his great grandchildren, Camdyn, Jack Talmage, Cecilia, Addison, TJ Schmitz, Andrew and Luke Williams. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Egan-Ryan Funeral Home (403 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43215). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel in St Joseph Cemetery (6440 S High St, Lockbourne, OH 43137).
