He was predeceased by: his brother Robert Stanbrough Hillas; and his parents, Roland A Hillas Jr. and Mary Rogers Hillas. He is survived by: his wife Arlene Giordano Hillas; his children, Lindsay Marie Hillas (Alisha Ducatte), Jamie Alexandra Hillas (Joseph Kizel) and Alec James Hillas; his siblings, Roland Hillas III (Chuenchit Hillas) and Wendy Miller; and his sister-in-law Linda Giordano (Cynthia Hillas). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
