He was predeceased by: his father Allen Harris; his wife Evone Harris; and his siblings, Lucille Russell, Johnnie Harris, Tommie Harris, Lewis Harris and Eddie Harris.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Hughes, John (Lorraine), Tyrone, Michael, Gary (Kristina), Darryl Harris and Bill Reese; his grandchildren, Shantell Howard, Danielle Harris, Shaneka Collins (Hernan), Andrea Butler (Jonathan), Sherri Hughes (Tayon), Shanice Coleman, Tiffani Harris, Dionne Harris, Ty Harris, Brandon Jones (Sandra), Justin Harris, John Harris, Marcus Harris (Joanna) and Jonathan Harris; and his sisters, Rozetta Russell, Retha McDonald, Elizabeth Miller, Willie Nell Harris, Ruby Harris and Minnie Pearl Harris. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
