“This is going to sounds odd, as I didn't even know John's name until today. But for the last 21 years I have been a teacher at Madison Elementary. And for most of school days in these years, I have waved to John as he sat in his front yard at the end of the school day. I hadn't seen him but once or twice this year and wondered if he was ok. Today I did some looking and found this obituary. His wave and smile will be missed by this stranger. My condolences to his family.”
