He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Barnett, Jr. and Mattie Lee Barnett; his son Kenneth Wayne Jenkins; his sisters, Christine Diane Jones and Wilhemina Barnett Lawson; his nephews, Robert Gates, Cezaray Garner and Carlos Garner; his great grandchild Javaris Jaxon Hatten; and his great-niece Tyi U'nique Kinzyah Barnett.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Haines Barnett; his children, Amanda Strickland, Kevin Jenkins of Columbus and Korie Jenkins of Miami, Florida; his siblings' children, Gloria Tarr (Harold) and Christopher Barnett (Melissa) of Columbus, Ohio; his siblings, Minister Barbara Deyamport of Laurel, Brenda Blackmon of Columbus, Ohio, Betty Jones of Columbus, Ohio and Curtis L Gates of Laurel, Mississippi; his aunts, Allie Barnett and Katherine Barnett Summerall; and his uncle Frank Barnett (Lolita) of Columbus, Ohio. He is also survived by grandchildren; four (4) great grandchildren; and all of his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
