We bid farewell to La Freida Ann Matthews of Columbus, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 5, 2025 at the age of 81. La Freida touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. As we bid La Freida farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For La Freida is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Matthews and Gladys Matthews; and her sister Althea Adams. She is survived by: her siblings, Jackie Patrick, David and Freddie Matthews; and her sons, Lamont Matthews (Annie), Elbert Dan Jr. Harrell (Lisa), Eddie Harrell (Sheila), Eldon Harrell (Toya) and Evan Harrell. She is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Church of God (3480 Refugee Rd, Columbus, OH 43232). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
