He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter L. Barrett, Jr. and Eva M. Jones Barrett; his brothers, Marvin L. Barrett and Walter L. Barrett, III; and his nieces, Veronica Moody and Connie L. Lunceford.

He is survived by: his sister Brenda L. Lunceford. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
