He was predeceased by: his wife Alice Barton Emmons; his son Larry Douglas Emmons; and his siblings, Rodney Wallace Emmons and Carolyn Bennett. He is survived by: his children, Chris, John and Mary Ruth Emmons; his granddaughter Kimberly Alice Gumble (Mark Shanahan); and his brothers, David Edward Emmons (Ruth) and Dan Emmons.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cotter House, 800 Proprietors Road Worthington Ohio 43085 in his memory.
