She was predeceased by: her parents, Ethel Virginia and Monroe Felton Ashley, Sr.; her husband Douglas Harry Holmes, Sr.; her son Douglas Harry Holmes, Jr.; her great grandchildren, Joshua David Moore and Jacob Cole Moore; her siblings, Monroe Felton Ashley, Jr., George Ashley and Lorine Watkins; and her sister-in-law Verda Ashley.
She is survived by: her children, Tanya Marie Holmes Moore (Cecil) and Vernon Paul Holmes (Leondra); her daughter-in-law Betty Joe Holmes; her sisters, Sharron Elaine Cephus (Billy) and Rose Marie Embry (John); and her brother-in-law Thomas Watkins. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
