He was predeceased by: his parents, Buck Cordell and Ida May Elliot Cordell; and his children, Larry Cordell, Tammy Grant and Jerry Cordell.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his grandchildren, Kim Mosley (Daron), Christina Woods (Travis), Cassie Detillion, Mitchell Cordell, Mallory Cordell and Morgan Cordell; his great grandchildren, Noah, Aharon, Aliyah, Ty, Matthew, Naomi, Wyatt, Katelynn, Erika, Eli and Tori; and his niece Tina (George).
