He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph McKinnon and Boyddeen McKinnon; his daughter Kimberly Leslie Renea McKinnon; his siblings, Joseph, Peter, Josephine "Jola", David, James "Jimbo" Mckinnon and Sonya Thorton; and his nieces, Aleesha Ghee and Denise Dawson.
He is survived by: his wife Gearldleen J. McKinnon; his children, Shelly Walter, Erica Lampkins (Andre) and Lester "Nippy" Walters; his grandchildren, Shanequoa "Shae" McKinnon, Quiera Chestnut (Brandon) and Curtis Lampkins; his great grandchild Kimberly E. Johnson; his sister Marva Dawson; and his sister-in-law Martha McKinnon.
