With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Casanta (Columbus, Ohio), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 14, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Mary farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Mary is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Casanta and Mary Casanta (DiPaolo); and her siblings, Frank Casanta and Diane Banks. She is survived by: her nephew Scott Rhyan; and her great-niece Abby Rhyan. She is also survived by many loving relatives, cousins.
A proud advocate of her Italian American heritage, Mary Lou was a founding force behind United Italian Americans and served as a Central Ohio coordinator for the National Italian American Foundation.
