She was predeceased by: her husband Archel Ransom; her mother Mary Francis Watkins; her sister Jonnie Mae Parrish; her grandson Brandon Russell; and her son-in-law Ronald K. Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Connis Lane (Shelia), Patricia Blackman, Brenda Barnett-Tyler, Deborah Bu'Ie (Clifford), Cynthia Russell (Columbus), Delcina Smith (late Ronald K. Smith) and Barbra Ransom. She is also survived by 7 children, 17 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
