He was predeceased by: his father Joseph; and his grandchildren, Dylan and Issabelle. He is survived by: his mother Agnes "Nana" Dawson; his children, Ryan (Krista), Jordan (Brooke), Zac (Elysia) and Carlissa; his grandchildren, Gemma, Lilah, Cora, Jayle, Zander, Zayne, Kendall, Vada, Ella and Dominic; and his siblings, Joseph, Mary, John and James.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bishop Ready High School in Michael's name.
