We announce the death of Monta Callander of Columbus, Ohio, who passed away on June 14, 2026, at the age of 87. Monta will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Jackson Sr. and Helen Thorpe; her husband Gail Callander; her daughter Kelly Funk; and her siblings, Carol, Diane, Jr. and Ronnie.
She is survived by: her children, David Tabor (Margie), James Tabor (Rosemary), Yogi Gerhart (Joe) and Tempa Heller; and her grandchildren, Connie, Sarah, Zach, Michael, Melissa, Adam, Kristin, Hunter, Hans, Houston, Gabe and Trevor. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local hospice in Joan's honor.
