Newton E. Thomas Obituary

We announce the death of Newton E. Thomas (Columbus, Ohio), who passed away on June 2, 2026. Newton will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Thomas and John Thomas; and his brothers, Jack, Bob and Larry.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Thomas (Herderick); his sons, Doug and Greg Thomas (Jenni); his grandchildren, Shawn, Allie Thomas, Erica Melendez and Scott Thomas; his great grandchildren, Malaki Thomas, Addie Carter, Andrew Melendez and Jayden Thomas; and his sister Betty Buzzard of Hilliard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Trinity Health at Home Hospice Care or Christ the King Catholic Church.
