He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Johnson and Mildred Johnson; and his siblings, Donald Johnson, Norma Jean and Claudia.

He is survived by: his children, Lori Johnson-Kraner (Seth), Norman Johnson Jr. (Kristy) and Gregory Johnson (Michele); his sisters, Ruby Stalter and Carol Walters; and his close friend Mihuawa Lee. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
