He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Mae Panepinto Katona and John Katona; his aunts and uncles, Adolph, Bebe Panepinto, Dr. Joseph Panepinto, Josephine Panepinto Walden, Carmella "Babe" Panepinto Dallison and Francis Panepinto Crouch; and his close friend Paula Palano.
He is survived by: his brothers, Steven John Katona (Ruth Feldman) of Pickerington, Michael Louis Katona (Christie Davis) of Morgantown, WV and Joseph John Katona of Morgantown, WV.; his uncle Joseph Dallison; his aunt Dr. Ruth Panepinto; and his extended family, Linda, Harlan Ketterling, Susan Furry and Ed Siwila. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
