He was predeceased by: his parents, Alford "Al" Aaron and Ethel Edwina Getchell (Peets); his son Christopher "Kit" Getchell of Lipan; and his sister Margaret Ethel Getchell of Waldport, Oregon.. He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Megg" Getchell of Otway, Ohio; his son Shawn Getchell (Loretta) of Lipan, Texas; his daughter-in-law Cindy Getchell of Lipan, Texas; his daughters, Brittany Gocus-Browning (Ross Barber) of Burleson, Kristen Wise (Kevin) of Crystal Lake and Angel Kemper of Wiley, Texas.; his grandchildren, Hunter Mills, Barrett Browning, Cameron Wise, Audrey Wise and Gus May; and his godchildren, Kameron Bryant and Savannah Garcia. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Life Point Church (1644 11th St, Portsmouth, OH 45662). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
