He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Hartman and Agnes Fish; his wife Virginia Hartman; his son Richard Hartman II; and his brother Raymond Hartman.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Seniuk, Patricia Grubbs (Samuel), Anne Rothschild (Robb), Sandra Jardine (James), Jane Ohly (Duane) and Jean Sowers (Robert); his daughter-in-law Seana Hartman; and his sister Mary Lou Rowan. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
