He was predeceased by: his father Paul Coyan; and his brothers, Matthew and Donald Coyan. He is survived by: his mother Gloria Maynard (Colombini); his wife Debra Coyan (Sowers); his children, Ricky Coyan, Angela Coyan and Megan Coyan; his grandchildren, Alexis, Brandon Atkinson and Tyler Spencer; his great grandchildren, Isabella, Jayda Parsley, Jaylin Spencer and Vanessa Woodruff; and his siblings, Glen Maynard (Yvette), Jason Coyan and Nicole Coyan-Kost. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
