Rosemary Wells

Rosemary Wells, 96, of Jungle Prada, St. Petersburg, Florida where she has resided for the past fifteen years, passed away peacefully on February 18th, 2024, while in Worthington, surrounded by family. Rosemary previously resided in Cincinnati, Worthington, and Bexley, Ohio.

Rosemary was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 24th, 1927, to Wilbur and Marjorie Maiden. She graduated from Norwood High School and attended the University of Cincinnati. Throughout her life, Rosemary served in several roles with Massey Ferguson, Capital University, as the Financial Aid Director, and the Vice President of Optifile, Inc., a family-owned business. She was a member of the Franklin County Democrats, as well as a long-time member of All Saints Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worthington, Ohio. Rosemary enjoyed entertaining family, friends, and neighbors while residing in Old Worthington on East Southington Avenue, and regularly hosted block parties after the annual Memorial Day Parade. She was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoyed debating politics, and traveling abroad.

Rosemary was tremendously proud of her grandchildren; she always showed her support at all events and always with a loving smile; she cheered them on no matter the venture. Rosemary helped raise many of her grandchildren, picking them up from school and driving them to all of their activities in the infamous “Wally Wagon.” Rosemary enjoyed all ten of her grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Rosemary is survived by her six children: Linda Wells-Rider (Wells) of Worthington Hills, Ohio, Christopher Wells, of St. Petersburg, Florida, Kimberly Cox (Wells) of Columbus, Ohio, Robin Walker (Fowle) (Wells) of Worthington, Ohio, Janice Eggspuehler (Wells) of Jungle Prada, St. Petersburg, Florida, Charles Douglas Wells of Jungle Prada, St. Petersburg, Florida. Additionally, Rosemary is survived by her brother, Richard Maiden, his former wife, Judy Maiden, their sons, John, and Richard (Rick) Maiden of Columbus and Grove City, Ohio.

As a note of gratitude to those that helped to care for Rosemary during her recent illness, heartfelt thanks are extended to her grandchildren Matthew Fowle, Jacob Rider, and daughter Janice Eggspuehler (Wells) who were of great comfort and help to her and their family.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her former husband, Charles Don Wells, her sisters Gloria Baruch, and Rita Clark, as well as her grandchild, Michael Fowle. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to a charity of choice. Condolences may be left online.
