We bid farewell to Shirley Dangerfield in Columbus, Ohio, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 26, 2025 at the age of 89. Shirley touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Hutson and Norma Otis Warfield; her aunt Eileen Griffin; and her brothers, Tommy, Jay and Darrell.
She is survived by: her children, Claude Dangerfield II (Rose Marie) of Gloucester, VA and Dedra Preston (Roderick) of Knoxville, TN; her grandchildren, Kala, Claude III (Giselle), Dionne, Roderick Jr. (Olivia), Tamra and Nick; her siblings, Joyce Hutson and Michael Hutson; and her friends, Gloria Woods, Leila Latter and Joan Monroe. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Furthermore, she maintained until the end, "My desire shall always be to contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints" The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzheimer's Associating in memory of Ms. Shirley Dangerfield.
