He was predeceased by: his father Ray Peltomaa; his father-in-law Eli Manos; and his brother-in-law Mark Petteys. He is survived by: his wife Linda Peltomaa; his daughter Aja Peltomaa; his son-in-law Sterling Tamburello; his mother Donna Peltomaa; and his brothers, Brian Peltomaa (Bonnie) and Kirk Peltomaa.

“Hello, I actually came across a post that someone had written on "Viva La Zone" about Vern's passing. I'm pretty sure that Vern and Mark? stayed at my house for the 1992 Grateful Dead shows in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada then I went to Columbus that summer and went to Buckeye and stayed with them and saw there band play. My condolences to his family during this difficult time!”
