She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Saunders and Catherine Saunders; her husband Willie Byrdsong; and her sons, Monte Hughes and Kenny Byrdsong.
She is survived by: her siblings, Ricky Saunders of West Virginia and Linda Saunders of Florida; her children, Willie Byrdsong of Ocala, Lisa Byrdsong of London, Nathaniel and Sheyvone Byrdsong of Atlanta, Georgia.; and her adoptive son Michael Simpson of Fayetteville. She is also survived by grandchildren nieces, nephews and cousins.
