She was predeceased by: her father Luther Byrd; her husband Walter E. Pate Sr.; her mother Theresa Byrd Sr.; and her siblings, Katherine Kidd (William), Margaret, Luther Jr. (Patricia), Rev. Kenneth (Gracie), Charles, Mary Lynch (Nelson), Marilyn, Carolyn and Richard (Cheryl).
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Mary Jane Byrd. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
