He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold L. Shiley and Nancy Shiley (Platz); his brother William; and his sister-in-law Wilma Shiley. He is survived by: his wife Judith M. Shiley; his siblings, Laura Eaton (Jim), Judi Cusick, Richard Shiley (Jeanne) and Barbara Maksin; and his friend Tim Church. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Conneaut Lions Club—Safety Town, P.O. Box 615, Conneaut, Ohio 44030, or to the New Leaf United Methodist Church- Blessings In A Backpack, 110 Gateway Ave., Conneaut, Ohio 44030.
