“My grandparents, James J. and Letitia A. Kitchen lived in Conneaut during my childhood years. Whenever we would go there to visit them from our homes (St. Clair Shores, Michigan in the mid to late 1950s or Chicago during my teen years), my parents (Fred and Merle Kitchen) would spend at least one evening visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Bessant. Bob was would mainly sit quietly in a chair listening while the older generation talked. He would come on his own to visit my grandparents.”
