He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Newell, and Bernice Newell, Sr. (Loomis); and his siblings, Betty Daughtry, Elaine Harrington-Stuntz and Clyde Newell.

He is survived by: his sister Sandy of Monroe Twp. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
