He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ernest and Lula Gilbert (Dean); his son Elmer "Dean" Gilbert; and his siblings, Elwood Gilbert, Elmo Gilbert, Woodrow Gilbert, Ernest Gilbert Jr., Elevyn Sparks, Onia Gehring, Delmer Gilbert and Richard Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Hull; his daughter Elissa Deeds (Andy) of Defiance; his granddaughters, Kaytlin and Lilian Kirkland; and his siblings, Noma Lawhorn of Cloverdale, Vernon Gilbert, Homer Gilbert of Defiance and Gerline Mays of Dupont.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
