He was predeceased by: his parents, William Pipes and Nettie Pipes (Crosby); his son-in-law Jim Moran; his siblings, Marilyn Rogers (Buster) and John Pipes; and his great grandchild Nevaeh Hurley.

He is survived by: his children, Michael Pipes (Joy) of Greenwood, IN, Jackie Pipes of Continental, Vickie Kirk (Joe) of Continental and Shellie Moran of Continental; his grandchildren, Chad Spear (Ashley), Jason Spear (Heather), Keisha Nunez (Miguel), Nicole Spooner (Morgan), Sarah Tice, Lauren Benham (Dan), Hollie Herr (Julie), Shawn Herr (Michelle), Hannah Pipes and Gunner Pipes; and his sister Janet Jones (Bill) of Jamestown, IN.. He is also survived by thirty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
