With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gloria J. Rood of Coolville, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 24, 2026 at the age of 83. In the sacred silence of farewell, Gloria is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Shafer and Evelyn Shafer (Kennedy); her husband Ed Rood; her son Brian Dotson; and her stepson Ed Rood Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Sullivan and James (Garnett Rood). She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
