It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan A. Shrodek of Cortland, Ohio, born in Niles, Ohio, who passed away on May 11, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, August Madish and Filomena Fraino Madish; her husband Stephen Shrodek; her son Steve Shrodek; and her pet Casey.

She is survived by : her daughters, Joni Pratt (Fred) and Kate Guesman (Ralph); her grandchildren, Kelly Fried (Jason), Kristy Johnson (Joe), Kara Totten (Shaun), Trevor Richards (Allison), Jason Shrodek (Erin), Adam Guesman and Tyler Slabaugh (Mike); and her great grandchildren, Niya, Caden, Noah, Zane, Cameron, Andrew, Connor, Ethan, Norah, Abigail, Leah, Ryan and Evan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lane Funeral Homes-Cortland Chapel (164 N High St, Cortland, OH 44410). A prayer was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 at the Hillside Cemetery West Main.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting monetary donations be made to Angels for Animals or the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.
