He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert "Mike" Burris and Judith Burris (Hughes); his wife Karen Burris (Kaser); his grandmother Fern Frye; and his siblings, Rita Hill, Jean Shaw, Joanne Burris, Sandy Kreis and Gary Burris.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kareen Funk (Jerry) of Warsaw, Jodie Wheeler (Mike) of Newark and Nola Burris of New Albany; his grandchildren, Stephanie Burris, Kristal Funk, Michael Wheeler (Audra), Gabrielle Burris and McKenzie Harden (John); his great grandchildren, Kennedi McClain (Dakotah), Gavin Mangus, Averi Wheeler, Easton Wheeler and Emma Harden; his great great grandchild Palmer McClain; and his siblings, Renee Vanaman (John), Jerry and Rick Burris (Debbie).
