He is survived by: his mother Thelma Hitchens (Wilson); his spouse Marlise; his children, Errin L Howard of Cincinnati, Harold William "Bo" Hitchens, III (Libby) of Zanesville and Sarah A. Hitchens (Nick DeVito) of Pataskala; and his grandchildren, Taylor Howard, Hannah Howard, Zachary Howard, Mary Elizabeth Hitchens and Harold William "Liam" Hitchens IV. He is also survived by 2 sisters, 3 brothers, several brothers and sisters-in-law, parents-in-law, cousins, aunts, uncles.
Harold attended his 50th Kentucky Derby in 2022, missing only the rescheduled race in 2020 due to Covid.
The family asks that donations to the American Heart Association be made in Harold's memory.
