He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold Delmar and Opal Irene Simmons (West); and his siblings, Jerry Simmons, Harold Delmar Simmons Jr. and Mary Catherine Zimmerman (Simmons).

He is survived by : his spouse Shirley Simmons (Eckelberry); and his siblings, Tom Simmons and Joann Mutschelknaus. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews; great nieces and nephews.
