He was predeceased by : his father Floyd "Dede" Forshaw; and his brother Kyle Forshaw. He is survived by : his mother Claudia Bonen (Hale) of Crestline; and his niece Kyla Forshaw of Bokchito, OK. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 2920, 100 South Crestline St., Crestline, in care of the funeral home.

Rachel Artrip wrote a sympathy message

“I taught with Cory for many years. We drove his big, gas guzzling truck to Cleveland together for professional development and we became quite close. He was a good man! We had a fun rivalry between OSU and Michigan. We liked to hang out at Just Joking in Crestline; we would eat together with his mom once a week. I am very sad to lose Cory; however, I know he will be an angel watching over his mom until they meet again. See you again in the promised land, friend. Sincerely, Rachel Artrip”
