Mary will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. She was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Henry C. Burkhart and Catherine E. Schauff; husband: Charles Marek; sons: Stephen (Connie Marek), Scott (Betty Marek) and David (Dorie Marek); brothers: William (Barbara Burkhart), James (Rose Burkhart) and Ernest (Linda Burkhart); sisters: Elizabeth, Gladys, Catherine, Evelyn Buchanan, Theresa (Thomas Fisher) and Irene (Dennis Borgelt); brothers-in-law: Charles H., Joseph and Thomas; sisters-in-law: Barbara Wells and Jeanne Burkhart; grandchildren: Rebecca (Jonathan Marek McPhee), Jennifer Marek, Christopher (Vanessa Marek), Samuel Marek and Nicholas Marek; great-grandchildren: Daniel and Rory; uncle: Leo; and 40 nieces and nephews and one great-grandchild on the way.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gompf Funeral Service - Crestline Chapel (223 W Main St, Crestline, OH 44827). A wake will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (331 N Thoman St, Crestline, OH 44827).
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the St. Joseph's Church, Boys Town (https://www.boystown.org) or Pink Ribbon Good.
