He was predeceased by : his father Lowell B. Herbst; his wife Barbara Ann Carpenter; and his siblings, Jim Herbst, Deb Carnes, Doug Herbst and Terry McCaslin.
He is survived by : his children, Pete Herbst (Shelly) of Roy and Chelle Zuppardo (Pete) of Wapakoneta; his granddaughters, Emily Nelson (Jaden) and Maddie Herbst; his brothers, Bob Herbst (Tricia) of Van Wert and Gary Herbst of Lima; and his sister-in-law Nancy Herbst of Tennessee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Allen County Veteran's Food Pantry or the Auglaize County Humane Society.
