He is survived by: his wife Donna Carpenter (O'Bryan); his sons, Dennis Carpenter (Kylie) of Nashport and Bryan Carpenter (Brittany) of Cumberland; his stepchildren, Steve Holt of Cambridge and Sandi Walker (Jason) of Cambridge; his sister Rita Grizzard of Coshocton; his grandchildren, Bailey, Sawyer, Luke, Colton, Weston, Taelor, Connor, Jadyn, Brantleigh, Tyler, Madison, Abby and Nathan; his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Waylon, Wryker, Will and Dallan; and his friend John Earle. He is also survived by niece and nephew.
